Porsche Macan (95B) & Cayenne

The Porsches that work for a living — and the two or three habits each one brings home.

Macan / Macan T — 2.0T EA888 · PDK

Engine

— SUVs tow, idle, and short-trip — the exact duty cycle that ages oil fastest. Half the interval, every time.Book an appointment →

— Held on time, read for cylinder health — turbo engines tell the truth through their plugs.Book an appointment →

— The Macan's 2.0T is the same EA888 family we service across VW and Audi — same borescope-first standard applies here.Book an appointment →

Cooling

— Fresh coolant and a UV check at every service — heavy cars are hard on their cooling systems and quiet about it.Book an appointment →

Transmission

— A PDK hauling an SUV's mass earns its fluid change twice as fast as the book admits.Book an appointment →

Drivetrain

— The Cayenne transfer case in particular is famous for dying of old fluid — 40k is cheap against a four-figure case.Book an appointment →

— Two quarts of gear oil every 60k — the whole cost of a quiet driveline on a two-and-a-half-ton Porsche.Book an appointment →

Brakes

— Heavy vehicle, hard brakes, wet fluid — the one corner nobody should cut.Book an appointment →

— Mass eats brakes — four corners measured, towing use noted in the record.

Suspension

— A corner that sits low overnight is a strut seal speaking while it's still cheap — before it takes the compressor with it.Book an appointment →

— SUV mass works bushings hard — we load-test every bushing so the first clunk never arrives.

Shared Veyra procedures

EA888 carbon service — borescope first

Borescope from 50,000 mi · clean as indicated

One procedure across every direct-injection EA888 we service: scope the intake valves, photograph what we find, and walnut-blast only when the deposits justify it. Dual-injection Gen3B cars usually pass; earlier B8-era engines usually don't. Either way, you see the photos before we recommend anything.

Engineering notes

Known issues on this platform

0160,000–120,000 mi · 2011–2018 cars

Cayenne V8 plastic coolant pipes

The factory plastic valley pipes fail with heat age and dump coolant into the vee. The aluminum replacement is permanent — and it goes in any time that area of the engine is open for other work.

Aluminum coolant-pipe upgrade

0260,000–110,000 mi

Transfer-case wear from aged fluid

Shudder on light throttle and binding in tight turns trace to the transfer case's small, hard-worked fluid volume. Serviced at 40k it simply doesn't come up.

Transfer-case fluid service

0380,000 mi onward

Macan PDK mechatronic sensitivity

Low-speed hesitation and clunky engagement on higher-mile Macans nearly always follow an unserviced PDK. Fluid history is the dividing line.

PDK service & adaptation

0450,000–80,000 mi

Intake-valve carbon — Macan 2.0T

The EA888 story again: cold-start stumble and dulled response, confirmed by borescope before anything is sold.

Walnut-blast carbon cleaning

0570,000–120,000 mi

Air-suspension strut seep — equipped cars

Struts seep first, the compressor dies second covering for them — catching the strut halves the bill.

Air-suspension leak-down diagnosis

— Cayenne diesel and E-Hybrid run their own schedules — ask us.

— Towing use moves every fluid interval here to its short end.

Intervals reflect factory guidance and Veyra field experience for typical use. Severe service — track, short-trip, extreme climate — shortens them; ask us.
